Is there a more despicable piece of legislation than the one that mandates that all US food aid abroad needs to be sourced from the US (whose transportation reduces the effectiveness of every dollar donated by 65%)? This is taking food out of the mouths of the starving poor to put pennies into the pockets of the US agricultural industry.

Between this and market distorting subsidies, the US agricultural lobby and its legislators have a lot of blood on their hands.
